Finally Baby no.2 has arrived
Thank God for His mercy and grace, the labour went smoothly and baby is healthy. There are 2 major Hiccups during the time I was pregnant that had left me in fear at times for the delivery. Thank God for desmond’s grandma who has been praying for me and desmond. She is a real prayer warrior
1st Hiccup: When I was 5 mths into my pregnancy, my doc told me during the scan he found something in the baby’s heart, it’s called the “Golf Ball” and it’s a soft sign of a Down Syndrome baby. However, the rest of my blood test and measurements are ok. The doc asked if I would like to go for a further test (Amniocentesis) to confirm the finding, but there’s the risk of having a miscarriage, so desmond and I decided against it.
The doc did say that the chances of me having a Down is slim but, having already been told that the “Golf Ball” in the baby’s heart is one of the signs of Down Syndrome, fear has already crept into me. I was really worried and the only thing i know was to pray for God to protect the baby. To be honest, even after praying and knowning that I can trust God, I’m still fearful. One moment, i would tell myself that everything is going to fine, and the next i will start imagining the worst. hehe and whenever I did that, desmonnd will scold me out of it:) I’m really grateful to his grandma too, as she will call and find out how i’m doing and tell me that she has been praying for the baby.
2nd Hiccup: We were on the way home from church one sunday and my water bag leaked ! Becky was sitting on my lab in the car and when we alight, i felt wet and the car seat was wet too. Initially i thought Rebecca pee on me but when my maid checked on her, becky was dry. I panic and realised that it may be my water bag has leaked. So desmond quickly rushed me into the hospital and I was praying so hard on the way. I was quickly put on drip as i’m having some contractions too. As the doc was on the way to the hospital to check on me, he told me if my water bag has burst, the baby may not be able to survive or may have many medical complications, i broke down and cry. I was sooo scared. hehe and the first person that we called for prayer is mama !
Thank God for His protection, the water bag was intact but i’ve to spend one night in the hospital for observation. And I was given 3 weeks of hospitalizatin leave hehe and that’s when i start my long long stay/working at home
The Labour: It’s quite smooth but this time i felt two contractions on a pain scale of 7 because the contractions came on too fast and the amount of epidural given was not sufficient. But it quickly pass after the nurse increased the epidural. No pain, two pushes and I delivered at 12.30 pm
